Job Description Directs effort of group of engineers and designers responsible for design and development of all core, short-term revenue generating products.
Oversee management of various spine development programs for current generation technologies through product development and launch in conjunction with systems development.
Develop, with Marketing, product portfolio strategy and maintain program priorities. Develop Development program objectives, strategies, timelines and milestones. Identify resource requirements, costs, and time schedules for various projects including support functions. Develop and manage departmental capital and expense budgets.
Provide technical leadership for engineering staff. Ensure that all programs are managed in accordance with appropriate regulations and SCI policies and procedures. Ensure that released products meet design requirements. Ownership of design control procedures and technical support function.    

Skills/Experience Requirements  Knowledge of regulations and standards affecting medical devices, with particular emphasis on design controls. Significant program management experience within spine or orthopedics (preferred) including simultaneously managing multiple key projects and their associated engineers / designers. History of significant contributions to business strategy. Significant departmental (preferred) or major project budgeting experience. Must have good communication and leadership skills, with ability to manage engineers and designers and to work collaboratively with rest of management team.      
Education Requirements  Bachelor’s degree in engineering with at least 7-10 years of experience in medical device product development. Master’s degree preferred
